About Me
My research uses machine learning and explainable AI to predict and understand sea-ice variability across timescales and to translate predictive understanding into observational guidance.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at UC Santa Cruz developing machine learning approaches to study ocean fronts using output from high-resolution LLC4320 simulations. I also lead OAISIS, an Antarctica InSync working group bringing together observational scientists and machine-learning researchers to develop AI-enabled approaches for Southern Ocean observing-system design.
